Installations can be seen as the modern day interpretation of a clock tower, a congregation spot for people that works as a hub of activity in a community. For Jaquar’s new headquarters in Manesar, Gurgaon, we decided to create something similar – something that would blend in seamlessly with the interiors, while also being eye-catching as well as a talking point for visitors and employees. Thanks to the open brief given to us by the client, we had the free reign to play around with a few concepts, before finally settling on the story of Jaquar and its connections with water.
The client wanted us to create an eye-catching art installation in the expansive foyer space in their new HQs in Manesar, Gurgaon, in order to serve as a visual stimulus for employees (and new joinees), clients & customers, architects and designers, business partners and other international and local guests.
The result - warm tinted delicate glass forms and bold shiny spun steel leaves clustered together like lotuses and leaves in a pond, almost acting like a bridge between the man-made and the natural.
Our design inspiration came from organic lotus forms that we then developed by close coordination with local artists and glass-blowers, with close attention to material selection, in order to seamlessly integrate it in the overall space and aesthetic of the interiors.
