Cuddly Woodly Toys- Ganges Dolphin and Asian Elephant.
The Ganges Dolphin and Asian Elephant are from our collection of endangered species toys.
Every toy includes story cue cards. Driven by our love for animals and the urgent need to protect them, we designed toys to create awareness and compassion amongst children and parents.
Conscious of our carbon footprint, the packaging is made from craft paper and becomes the environment for the toys.
Ranging from the Bulmer Fruit Bat, on the brink of extinction, to the Giant Panda, which was once endangered, but now upgraded to "vulnerable" - our toys carry a message of hope that careful conservation can help bring these animals out of the danger zone. Through our toys we aim to create awareness and compassion amongst children towards the Endangered Species in India and across the world while reviving the Indian craft of ‘wood turned toys’ from Channapatna. Over the years with the inflow of plastic toys, the popularity of Channapatna toys has been dwindling. Our toys were made with the intention of supporting the revival of this wood turned toy craft. Through new and contemporary designs we attempt to add variety and thus boost business for the artisans.
Made in Channaptana
The Toy Town of Channapatna has been home to artisans handcrafting toys for over 300 years.
Cuddly Woodly toys are crafted from ‘Hale mara’ or Ivory wood trees that are found in abundance in Channapatna, are fast-growing, and replenishable.
The craft uses natural lac made from the secretion of insects, mixed with plant pigments to add bright colours to the toy. Dried talegiri leaves and beeswax are used to add shine.

Over the years with the inflow of plastic toys, the popularity of Channapatna toys has been dwindling. Our toys were made with the intention of supporting the revival of this wood turned toy craft. Through new and contemporary designs we attempt to add variety and thus boost business for the artisans.
Innovative Design
Our motto with toy design is to stir the imagination, enhance creativity, develop gross motor and/or fine motor skills, complemented with enhanced thinking skills. Made out of wood, fabric, or other natural materials, our toys ensure safety and fun for kids of different ages, while keeping them sustainable. Storytelling, DIY, Enhanced Creativity & Curiosity, Craft Oriented, and Puppeteering are a few things that our range of toys brings to our children. For the first time in Channapatna our toys used 2 colours of wood stuck together and turned on the lathe to create a two toned toy.
Toy within a Toy
Building compassion through the relationship between a mother and child.
Every toy animal can be opened to discover a baby animal finger puppet inside. Children identify with parent child relationship and feel closer to the animal.
A message of hope for the continuance of the species is carried through the baby animal, which shows the cycle of life.

Packaging Design
The packaging extends the play by bringing DIY elements that convert into the environment for the toy animal. The back of the sleeve converts to an
Endangered Scale that acts as a scoring device. The different colours on the scale mark the different stages of vulnerability of the animal. Each toy marks the beginning of the game at the animal’s real life level of vulnerability - for e.g., Asian Elephant starts at Endangered, Brown Spotted Owl starts at Near Threatened etc. The laser marked counters are used by the child to move up or down the scale.
